Any opening will work as long as your opponent doesn't know how to take advantage of useless moves.

Idk if it qualifies as unusual but the old indian has impresive statistics:

Anyone tried "Balogh's" defense? I've had some success with it in fast games but I think it is a bit dangerous for slow games.

I've had mixed success as black with 1.D4 . E5

Very aggressive and good fun, however against strong opponents they typically just surrender the gambit pawn back and get a development advantage.

unusual openings....well any opening is unusual if you are not familiar with it...an opening is only a means to an end..to successfully develop and strategically located the elements necesary to unleach hell into the middle game....
