Could anyone recommend a good one?

How about a "rating range" of 1600-1800ish?

Why don't you do it the easy way and mention the rating range you're interested in?

Another rec for "the ultimate chess puzzle book"
Also have "365 ways to checkmate" by Joe Gallagher and enjoy it just as much - the puzzles are of a similar standard, the only twist is each puzzle involves a mate (or using a mate threat to win material)
Enjoy

ct-art is worthless rubbish, worst most confusing interface youll ever see.

thats a good site, I own a few chess puzzle books and all of them I cant do in my head:

John Nunn's Chess Puzzle Book
The Ultimate Chess Puzzle Book
Fred Reinfelds puzzle books

The only puzzle book Ive been really satisfied with is sharpen your tactics. Its kind of expensive though.

i think you might be missing the point of CTart though.. yeah chesstempo looks really nice but the how the problems flow on CT art has really helped me...

but if youre broke then tempos the only way to go i guess
plus CTs "main line" and "counterplay" options are more realistic, plus there are still many errors at tempo

i like the following book 'complete chess workout' by richard pallister which has 1200 tactics from real modern games, no compositions.:

i quite like ct-art but i find it pretty hard, even at level 10-20 it will throw a 9 move combination at you.
