Game 4413368

This is a game I just finished against Gsunnen which was pretty tactical and interesting. He took me out of book with the move 6...Nf6, but I was able to find a pretty cool move that I think gives white a nice advantage after that with 7.Bxf7+! I analyzed it to be sound when I was playing, but wasn't convinced until my post-mortem when I had Fritz check the move. 9.O-O would have been better than 9.exd5 because of white chance to avoid the check by the rook. Fritz 9 says that 12.d6+ is better than my choice of 12.Rae1, but I disagree. It'd be nice if some people would help me analyze that particular move to see which is better, because I'm pretty convinced that 12.Rae1 is superior to the immediate check.

After 13...c5?? white could have busted the game open with 14.dxc6+!, but I missed this move and instead played 14.Qc4 which keeps the game approximately equal. Fritz suggests 15.b4 instead of Nxd4, but again, I think Fritz is wrong, Nxd4 seems to offer some pretty nice practical opportunities for white. 17...Kf8 was superior to Kh8 and white could have improved on move 18 by playing 18.Nh6! instead of 18.Nxg7. 18...Qxg7 is a blunder after 19.Bc3! and black only makes it worse by playing 19...Ne5 instead of the far superior Nf6. White could gain an even more devastating advantage with 20.Qd5! but 20.Qxc5 offers plenty of advantage for white to trade down and win an easy endgame, as I did. 32...Rxe7 was not entirely accurate, but the game was already clearly lost at that point, so it's of little significance.

What do you guys think? I really enjoyed playing this one. 🙂
