I'm getting back into chess and trying to regain my previous skill level. I have just a couple questions about tactics. Is it important to study both end game and middle game puzzles? Should one be focused on more than the other?
Do any of you have any recommendations for good tactics iPhone apps for low level players?
Have any of you noticed a bug on chesstempo.com where - if you have two possible mating moves (like a discovered mate) - It will say you are wrong if you pick the "wrong" option even though it is still checkmate?
Hi Paraguy.
Dedicated Tactical Endgame Puzzles differ from Middle Game combo's as you
can add in pawn promoting combo's, stalemate tricks, open board skewers and forks.
Ideas well worth knowing to stimulate the imagination.
It will not do any harm at all doing both.
Post an example of the bug on the other site.
