What is interesting is that currently Anand is the second best Indian in the tournament!

I think Tiviakov will win group B. He's actually much stronger than his rating suggests. Personally i think he could finish mid table in group A given a chance. Watch this space 😉

I'm really pleased to see Anand get a win today, especially against one of the favourites (i think Caruana must be considered one of the favs by now). He's been a dead man walking for far too long now! Could this be the start of a come back?? Hope so 🙂

Yes, finally a win by Anand against an opponent in the top 10 !

Wow, Anand wins two on the bounce! Against Aronian no less! Looks like the tiger has returned. 😀

Another truly EPIC end game from Magnus. He really does seem to have gotten even better these last two events. 🙄

Maybe he has been practicing with Houdini & Rybka to beat them 10-0. 😏

It took me a minute to see that white has no good defense to the coming ...Qxh3 on that first game. That second one made me take a second look too.

edit: hashed pgn of Carlsen's game was here, it was fixed and is displayed below by the next poster (thanks).

The opposite coloured bishops ending looked like a certain draw. Very impressive from Carlsen.

Apparently black should have played 68... gxh5.
