I dont see why I should. I can get every feature here and more at chesshere.com, I dont think Id wanna play more than 6 games anyway, I have no desire to play in a siege or in a tournament forced to play some engine user for a worthless title. Or join some clan that wants me to play 50 games to bring it up to the top of the worthless clan standings.
Explain to me the rationale for subscribing for someone who usually plays active games. The way I see it subs play far too many games and they're atleast 100 pts overrated.

2.) Being a game mod here, I think people blow up the amount of engine users on this site 50 fold.
3.) People like playing in tournaments for the fun of it, and for the competition. It's a worthless title, but if you're going to play a game here, why not make it a tournament game?
4.) Not all clans encourage their members to play 50 games at one time. Start a clan of your own with your friends. I don't play any clan games right now, and no one cares.
5.) What does other subscribers playing too many games have to do with you(It's rhetorical, nothing is the obvious answer)? You've previously stated you wouldn't play more than 6 anyway.
6.) A rating system only needs to work within itself. Overrated compares the RHP rating system with some other rating system as a baseline. There is no point in trying to correlate BCF, USCF, CCF, or FIDE ratings with RHP, because not only will it not work at all, but it doesn't matter. If I play someone with my own rating, then we're probably equally overrated, and therefore makes zero difference. Subscribers being overrated also means nothing in the context of this post.
I would say that a decent amount of subscribers pay for RHP simply to support the site. You seem to forget that two very cool British dudes run this site, depending on it for putting food in front of their families. If I wasn't a poor college student, I would almost certainly subscribe, and buy some subscriptions for others. Convincing arguments for not subscribing though. Sharp as a tack.

That explains a lot. Here's !~TONY~! and a couple of the other Game Mods at "work": http://halloween.wizard.org/images/no-evil-skels2.jpg

(to the OP):
You're right about many things you've said, but not chesshere.com😉
forget about chesshere, just take a look at chess.com. It's by far the best chess site I've ever seen, and it gives almost everything a subscriber would get from RHP, but for free.
what I like about RHP is the forum discussions. If I would subscribe, I would do it only to support the site, but I strongly doubt the owners need any support with hundreds of members already.

People are running around say "OMG LOLZ SO AND SO IS CHEATING!!! GET HIM!!!", when in reality he's just a good player. There are some incredibly obvious cases of people cheating, and I'm sure a lot that go undetected, but by and large I think it's blown way out of proportion.

And while the OP might be a tool, you can't seriously deny that many, if not most, of the open tournaments over the last few years have been won by cheats. The memans of the RHP world have had a deleterious effect on tournaments here made worse by the glacial pace between accusation, investigation, finding and banning.

My two cents....
After being a 5 year non-sub, I flipped and became a sub.
The biggest reason for me to be a sub was to join a Clan and have tourneys.
It was discouraging for me after 6 months of being a paying member the site just gives non-subs a free ride with Club Membership and Club tourneys.
But, I still don't regret becoming a sub. This is a great site and Russ is always trying to improve it.
I do think that non-subs should be limited to 5 Blitz games a day.
If they want more... then they should pony up and become a subscriber.
Yes, MAYBE you would see a shakeup on page 1, but what does page 1 have to do with the vast majority of RHP users. Shaking up page one affects less than one percent of the RHP population. If the first 3 pages of the Player Tables was cheats, that would be less cheaters than people think actually exist. Sure, it's disconcerting that people cheat on this site. Yes, tournaments are sometimes won by cheaters, but for almost all of RHP, cheating is no problem, and is nothing to flip out about. I'm not saying I'm not glad that something was being worked on, and I enjoyed being on the team, but relax, you're kind of a spaz. I'd like to see you do better than the Game Mod team. It's easier when you work by yourself and don't have to prove conclusive evidence, and can just make sweeping claims and go on hunches. Then you can call in the big boys to do the rest and take all the crap for not being good enough.
