I saw a fantastic picture of a chess scene painted on the outside
of a pub on the west coast of Scotland. It was a three hour trip
there, three pictures, one pint and a three hour trip back. Job done.
A John Roycroft 1954 study. White to play and win.
Which led to me showing some similar RHP games.
A blunder that has tripped up RHP players and OTB players.
(one of the OTB players was at the time of the game rated 2465.)
This prompted me to try and bust it and came up with a lovely game.
This merrily takes us to a blunder that 609 RHP players have played.
I’ve never put study and a problem in the same blog but this one is so
brilliant I could wait to show it off. It is a White to play and mate in 5.
(you can try to solve it but the real joy is watching it unfold)
It was composed by Alphonse Grunenwald in 1945.
It contains the real gem of an extraordinary idea.

Thanks for this! I shared this on my club's facebook page, in particular for that last problem, which is a beauty.
