The draw rule - 50 moves

Is it a draw when a game proceeds 50 moves without a capture or pawn advance? Are there exceptions to that? If so, what are the exceptions?

The draw is not automatic. It must be claimed. If the claim is corrent, then it is a draw.

Do I recall that castling also resets the moves?
