I was saying to Robbie in blitz (here 3 minutes) you have one main idea
and try to fulfill it taking care of any wee tricks and tacics along the way.
    (well it''s what I do.)

    Here, after Black's 8...e5 I just wanted to get a Knight d5.
I did not know what was going to happen after it got there but getting an
challenged Knight on d5 in such positions is always good news.

This is a good single-minded example played just a few minutes ago.
(I cock it up a little bit but get back to the main idea after stopping his play.)
I've not looked at in depth, if there are cute tricks my opponent and I
missed them. It's blitz. The lesson being the carrying of a stubborn idea.

I'm White. kidzebra (a nod to Rowson's Chess for Zebra's.)

...but getting an <unchallenged> knight to d5...

Thanks for this gp. It is a welcomed relief from the mantra of "tactics, tactics, tactics". Zebra and his 7 Deadly Sins are both excellent, so different from the run of the mill book, yet still solid chess and a fun read to boot.

    Hi Monty.

I up sitting and waiting for RHP Championship Chums to move.

They are learning....These Blogs are being read....Take your time....
Last RHP Ch. I won 9-10 games within 2 days.

Unfortunately Blitz is 99% cheap tactics. (especially at 3 minutes.)
It's too fast, in 5 mins you can do things.

These two were played within the last hour.

The first one I'm getting gubbed dropping a Knight. (Tiredness...and crap chess)
He falls behind on time by about 30 seconds.
No big deal v me - if I'm totally lost but my opponent is toiling for time,
down to last 10-15 seconds I send:
"I don't want to win this mess on time - good game" and resign.

Typical of me I pull everything across to his King and find a cheapo.

In the second game, this lad sacs a piece again me.
I give him the old greenpawn technique. (I've sacced enough in my time
to know what to do v a spec sac.)
