I just finished playing this game.
I thought this game was very illustrative of my experience on this site. Most of my opponents played very hastily and carelessly, and I ended up with a clear advantage. And I had to do something with it, but I couldn't see what.
1. e4 e5 {Never played anything else.} 2. Bf1c4 Nb8c6 3. c3 Ng8f6 4. Qd1b3 Nc6a5 {I just thought I'd see how it goes. After 5. Bxf4 Ke7 6. Qa3, I think I'm still OK. I'm ahead in development and take a bishop in exchange for a knight, a pawn and a weakened king. I was going to castle kingside by hand.} 5. Bc4xf7 Ke8e7 6. Qb3b4 {Qa3+ was the right way to check. The played move gives away the material advantage and does nothing for the development...} c5 {...because of this. The queen is forced to move, but it cannot take the knight, which is now defended.} 7. Qb4xc5 Ke7xf7 8. Qc5xe5 {That's unnecessary. Why not get the queen out of trouble? I'll be able to centralize my knight with a tempo now...} Bf8e7 {...which I missed} 9. b3 Na5c6 {OK, better late than never.} 10. Qe5f4 {Threatening to attack the pinned knight with e5.} Rh8e8 {Go on, play e5.} 11. d3 {No.} d5 {Trying to get rid of a weak isolated pawn, and open the d-file for my queen.} 12. h3 dxe4 13. dxe4 Kf7g8 {Playing safe. I think I'm definitely better now, and I don't want no trouble.} 14. g4 Nf6xe4 {Not takeable. I played this almost blindly with the thought that I have to think later how to efficiently attack f2 with my bishop.} 15. f3 {Oh, man... That was bad. I definitely didn't analyze the move thoroughly enough...} Be7h4 {...but there must be a win in here.} 16. Ke1f1 {I calculated Ke2 down to a mate, and sort of hoped he might play it.} Ne4g3 {All I was seeing for sure now was the fork. The rest is rather vague. But there should be a win!} 17. Kf1g2 Qd8d1 {After a long while spent at the position, I decided I was sure that gave me at least a minor piece. I considered 18. Nd2, 18. Be3 and 18. Qc4+, all in an attempt to stop my Qf1-Qf2 mate. That bothered me because I thought there had to be something huge in the position.} 18. Qf4d2 {Great, I didn't think of that. What now? Oh, I'm winning the game in a couple of moves.} Qd1f1 19. Kg2h2 Re8e2 {My opponent resigned.} 0-1
