I am involved with organising an 8x8 All-play-All tournament and I should be most grateful if someone could provide me with a description of, or a net reference to, the Sonneborn-Berger tie-break system or, if more appropriate, the Bucholz sum of scores method. A worked example of either system would be greatly appreciated.

An individual's Sonneborn-Berger score equals the sum of the scores of the players he/she has beaten, plus half of the sum of the scores of the players they drew with.

If the tournament is a round robin (all plays all) then the Buchholz system gives everyone the same score (as it is just the scores of your opponents).
