Time capsule

Saw a movie featuring a time capsule and it got me thinking.

If you were to bury a time capsule and you wanted to put in a chess object,or several objects.What would it be?In other words,what would you want a future generation to know about today's chess?

A note saying "Sorry...I can't part with any of my chess stuff"

I'm afraid to say it but it would have to be a small handheld device that has the 'computing power ...[text shortened]... chess but devising a 'machine' that not only plays for you but makes tea at the same time 🙁

I'm afraid to say it but it would have to be a small handheld device that has the 'computing power of a grandmaster'...I think that amply sums up this generations fascination with chess i.e. not much fascination and 'you too can play like Kasparov.' Makes me wonder whether the future is not actually playing chess but devising a 'machine' that not only plays for you but makes tea at the same time 🙁

I would probably put a can of beer in there to let everyone know my study habits.

Why not just a set of pieces and let them figure out the rest of it

Figure it out? Chess will be played until the bombs drop. They will already know what a chess set is.

Try to be more creative. I thought we talked about that?

What game would you put in to sum up the ingenuity of mankind?

I would put in books by Eric Schiller and request them to make a time machine so they can go back in time and kill him before he is allowed to publish his crap.

Maybe even request a "talking to" for Reinfeld and warn him not to publish a massive amount of worthless books.

wierd question.
Probably a small magnetic chess set and a guidebook of how to play.
Even though by then they'll figure out the winning/drawing chess strategy and it will be no longer interesting, but what ever.
