Timeouts within a couple of moves

I've just timed an opponent out in two clan games but didn't pick up any rating points. When I checked I noticed the games were both at 2 moves or less. Is this usual - could someone explain why please?

..If it is within three moves (remember moves are counted in pairs) you can simply delete the game. You will not be able to claim the win as the game is too immature.

note that your clan does get credit for the victories however.
