P.S. What database program do you use? Scid, or something else?
OK, I checked the database. About 140 games completed in the last 3 hours, if I understand correctly. Multiply that by most of the day, and I don't think it's physically possible to do it, unless there's a way to batch download them that I don't see. Another one of greenpawn's patented windups, I'm guessing?

I don't take them evry day.

I have all the games from the current RHP 1400 databae.

I did not do them all. My gang in Bates Motel helped me.

Dirty Sniper has given me over 50,000 in the past year and Fat Lady
who teaches juniors put his class of 30 kids onto the task,
Each had to copy 1,000 games a week.

I just organised who did what. I use CB 10.

I'm still not sure I believe him. The Bates Motel gang that no longer exists, 30 anonymous kids, Fat Lady who hasn't commented yet, and maybe he bought you off to boot. An awfully convenient excuse, if you ask me.

    Not that I doubt GP's veracity... 😉

We work diligently in the Bates Motel, compiling Games 3-4hrs a day. I have all of them stored in Aquarium.

But there are only 2 members in the Motel, and one of those joined a few days ago.

Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if he got most of the games straight from Chris or Russ, and he's trying to pass this all off on his hard work. 🙂

When it was full there were 12 members and all of them helped out.

How else do you think I got the Blog 4 info on caslting.

Test me - ask me to find a game with something obscure happening.

I don't think the DB can be down-loaded.

The only way is by hand and loads of helpers. Test me.

Gee greenpawn, it always seemed to me that you had at least a good chunk of it. I just couldn't figure out how you downloaded all of it. Now that I know you had help, it seems believable. I just wanted to see how long I could keep you on the defensive. I just guess I"m not very good at stringing it out - I tend to lose interest quickly. 🙂

    Not a problem MR.

I would not believe me either.

    There are 1346 stalemates.

    The shortest being 30 moves.
Black gets the idea round about move 25 - White falls for it.

A brilliant game of chess. White gives up any thoughts of mate
and just keeps taking material. Full info in header

btw, I wonder if anyone's asked the admins about adding a fen search to the RHP database. It would be a nice feature.

I threw in that idea about a year ago.

The feeling was it would be good but available to subs only.

Who knows perhaps one day but remember the DB is in PGN so searching
would make it very very slow also it is getting added to every minute so a dead
base would have to be set up ro search from and it has now about
    2 million games in it.

If the DB were available as part of a subscription, it would be a major score, I believe.
