I'm excited about playing a local and rated chess game tonight. My record in rated uscf games is 0-9 after 2 swiss style tournaments last winter. One was a 10 min tourny, and the other was a 30 min tourney and they were one week apart. It was my first over the board experience and needless to say I played quite poorly. Last night, however I won 5 hard fought games at the local starbucks so I'm pumped about tonight!
otb is a whole other experience. I learned to play here on this site and am used to correspondence play. Not just the fact that I have time and privacy to look over the game, but also looking at the board "birdseye" on my screen as opposed to seeing it live. I've been trying to play more live games to get used to it but it's definately different.
