Hi
I'm learning the English and sicillian openings , both involve fianchetting bishops which I'm unfamilar with.
My problem is my opponant brings his rooks pawn down the line attacking my bishops pawn. This is a big problem when I've castled.
What can be done about this ? aslo when I get by knight out it blocks off by fianchettoed bishop any thoughts on this.

This is generally countered by piece activity in the center. Use his tempos to further your plans and it will take a lot out of his attack. In some cases you may also be better off playing h4. However, I've personally never had a position in the English where this was the best move.
