My UCHESS (LowlyPawn) rating is usually around 1600, about the same as here. I also have connection problems, but I really detest Yahoo. FICS is good, but I can't get there at work (my boss doesn't come here does he?). At UCHESS, at least you can be reasonably sure you are playing against people, not their programs, which is why I came to detest yahoo and pogo.

does anyone know of a quick play site that can be accessed on ports 80 and 443 that isn't yahoo?

I am a regular at uChess and today there was a problem. Every time I set up a game, and when the other player comes to my board, it just throws me out and I can't play. What the hell is wrong with this? If I instead join another one's board it doesn't do this and I can play.
