a thread in the general forum got me wondering. What is the relation between rhp rating and uscf rating. I'm specifically interested in the uscf rating of players who play at this site. anyone have one?

Hello,

My USCF rating is about 1140. I've played about 20 games in tournaments, most of which were when I was just starting out. I went 2-11 in my first games (approx) but then went 6-9 at the World Open 2 years ago. My play has greatly improved in the past 7 months, both here and over the board so I'm anxious to go to my next tourney.

I find RHP ratings are stronger. I am 1790 USCF, and I have all I can do here at RHP to stay above 1600. I think our RHP members in the high 1900's and 2000's would be very competent masters OTB. As far as Bryans post goes, as I keep telling him, get to a tournament while your rating is still low and clean up!!!!!!!!

That surprises me...I would have thought rhp ratings to be higher than uscf. I only played one tounament at a local chess club in NY and was 0-5 but against mostly high rated players so I couldn't really get a guage. I renewed my membership and plan on joining a few local tournaments to see where I stand.

thanks for the input
