Is it possible to detect a cheater using cpu's if he uses different software in different games? Has to be more difficult anyhow?

I wonder how stylistically different the top engines really are...my guess is, not as much as the manufacturer's hype would indicate.

In my experience Junior has a unique style. It makes sacrifices often. It can see compensation in many forms other than material. By contrast, Shredder is a more "routine" engine, simply putting the pieces where they belong. Fritz is said to imitate human style play. In my opinion these characterizations are accurate.
