How long should we wait, when an opponent is "On Vacation" but does not give any indication of when they are returning? I would like to be polite, and wait until they come back...but how long is reasonable to wait, before it's obvious that they are not coming back? Especially since their time-bank is used up, at this point?
My opponent has only been gone a few days, so I'm not itching to seize the win, quite yet. I'm just curious what the general consensus is.
Originally posted by Shanshu311I would wait about 4-6 weeks after timebank or 8 weeks after time-out - whichever is longer. If the person doesn't return 2 months into their vacation, they shouldn't have started the match IMO.

My opponent has only bee ...[text shortened]... o I'm not itching to seize the win, quite yet. I'm just curious what the general consensus is.
I think it would be because it is a statistical fact that American workers have less vacation time per year by far than Europeans, so in Buddy2's opinion that should be taken into account (I'm trying to mind read here). I think Lucifershammer's suggestion is a fair one when someone doesn't give at least a general indication when they will return (vacation flaggers almost always do in my experience and they should in my opinion).
I agree, that if a person is going on vacation, they should at least try to give an estimate as to when they will return. The fact that my opponent has simply put "I'm busy" for the explanation, with no return date specified...it's a little frustrating.
But I will give them enough time, before I claim the win.
