I was playing a game & the person I was playing against kept moving his king only to two spots. So i went to trap him with my king, queen & rook. When I moved my king to a spot, then it came up as a draw. Then it said it was a stalemate. So what is that?

basically he was not in check but the only available moves open for him would put him in check
As you can not move into check you have no moves available
therefore as you are not beaten but unable to move it is a stalemate i.e. a draw

Not stalemate for white. Queen takes black bishop.

Also, thats an illegal set-up as white's black bishop could never get to that square during a game with those pawns there.

You are perfectly right, this remark is only an extensional remark.

In Blitz it is not an illegal position. Whites last move can be like Ba3-f6+ (Illegal? Yes but not until white discover the illegal move and reports it and winning the game, but not before then.) White responds with Qe6-e7, the only move, thus making the preceding move legal by not reporting it.

But of course you are right, I'm just being difficult. In any normal sense it is illegal move, but stranger position has been encountered in blitz than this. See further the thread "Strange but true".

Well, then, it's really an illegal position.

Lol yeah Those pawns must be allowed to jump behind enemy pawns then.
