What is your fav opening? Mine is the Giuoco Piano....

#1 is King's Gambit Accepted, as White. Lots of fun. I like opening that involve lines of attack, gambits especially. They lead to beautiful combinations. 🙂 Others of note are the Evans Gambit and Benoni.

I think French defense, both as White and Black... but I like also Dutch as Black and Austrian Attack against the Pirc as white.

1.Nf3, transpossing into whatever line i feel gives me best chances depending on the reply as white. As Black, has to be the sicillian, occationally transpossed into the french against e4, or Kings Indian to d4.

With the white pieces i like the Catalan system and with black i prefer a sicilian.

As white, the Danish gambit accepted is almost as good as sex, especially if black tries to cling to the freebies. Only problem is that it requires 1. e4 to which black can reply with ...

... c5 leading to the Sicillian defence, which gives black a solid and reliable game, and almost (but not quite) eliminates white's initiative.

So the biggest problem with favourite openings is that your opponents don't often give you the chance to play them.

i like getting the king and queen's pawns to d4 and e4, and then moving the bishops into c4 and f4. the power of those bishops is almost intoxicating...😏 then just protect them with knights or whatever and beauteous plans spring forth

Bird as white. And Dutch or French as black depending on white's first move.

With black, it all depends on what white opens with and what kind of player I think they might be...

I like to come at my opponents from all angles-win/lose or draw😉 It keeps lively, preventing perdictability (at least to some degree)
