Could it? I thought he said that pawns become queens. Nothing necessary about that.

It is not necessary that pawns be promoted to queens. In some circumstances under-promotion is better, yet your original post could be read by the overly critical as claiming that pawns only may be promoted to queens.
So, is that what Bowmann thinks he's about? What might happen if we (mis)read his posts by a similar principle?

I like pawns because they start as lowly chess men, and then become queens. They are the most progressive pieces.

Of course they do not always become queens. Most never promote as they are captured in the battle, or the battle takes place elsewhere. Sometime they mate the opposing king without the prior change in gender.

There was nothing exclusive in my statement. I like it when they become knights and rooks, too. Once I promoted a pawn to a bishop to illustrate mate with two bishops to a student, although the queen could have made the same moves.

However, pawns are my favorite pieces when they become queens. I enjoy the transformation. I believe it carries interesting symbolic significance. A pawn in drag is a beautiful creature, and most powerful.

For a good reason, Master Wulebgr.

I'm not going to teach you a basic rule that I may well have wrong. The best thing is for me to go away and learn them properly.
Well said (after proper editing, of course).

You refuse to answer a direct question, and you persist in stalking me. You're not a troll, you're worse.

As a general policy, I refrain from discussing one site at another site. But, I do offer comparisons of several sites at http://www.angelfire.com/poetry/wulebgr/corr.htm. RHP is one of the best sites I've found, which is why I pay for my membership here. Why do you refuse to pay?

Your question has been answered.

Why do you keep on posting the URL of an "unreliable" site?

Oh, I shouldn't think he's terribly upset about that. Some have more perception than others.

Of course an only child may develop differently also.

But what about pawns with siblings?
