The way that it works, is that if the same EXACT position is on the bored for three turns during a game, the game is a draw. the turns honestly don't even have to be in repetition. I found a website that explained these to me once, I'll see if I can find it again.
Edit:Found it.

My queen DEFINATELY went on a different square, unless I have mistakenly followed the wrong rules for years I believe there are glitches in yahoo's software, it has happened before but as the game was fairly equal I did not feel robbed.

Article 9.2 in the FIDE laws of chess states:
The game is drawn, upon a correct claim by the player having the move, when the same position, for at least the third time (not necessarily by sequential repetition of moves)
1. is about to appear, if he first writes his move on his scoresheet and declares to the arbiter his intention to make this move, or
2. has just appeared, and the player claiming the draw has the move.
Positions as in (a) and (b) are considered the same, if the same player has the move, pieces of the same kind and colour occupy the same squares, and the possible moves of all the pieces of both players are the same. Positions are not the same if a pawn that could have been captured en passant can no longer be captured or if the right to castle has been changed temporarily or permanently.
There is a useful discussion of this rule at

The USCF rules are nearly the same as FIDE on this point--slightly different language to describe an identical standard.

With so many free sites designed by bonafide chess players who know what they're doing, why do intelligent chessplayers gravitate toward yahoo, pogo, and the like?
