Hey all,
I'm playing a game where, I've made a STUPID oversight at the beggining of my game but I've stuck it out. I'm now in a situation where I'd been trying for a draw or surprise checkmate or Something.
Well the 3 repeated move rule occured but as the AI didn't force it my opponent is denying that its a draw. I know its low, but as we are
matching blunder against blunder I feel its even.
I've offered a draw with a rematch, but no he won't take.
Is there something I can do?
Julien.

Originally posted by juliencThe rule is: threefold repetition without a pawn or piece capture. This also incudes,it has to be the same side to move(this is often forgotten). In that game, you reached three times the same position, with the same side to move, but the first time there was a pawn capture.Hence,I think you can't claim a draw.

Originally posted by SirLoseALotI am pretty sure it is immaterial if a piece or pawn was captured on the first move of the threefold. The offical rule is that the same position arises three times in a game, each time with the same side having the move, and each time with all possble legal moves for both sides (i.e., castling, en passant) being the same.

I read it this morning and got really mad, that somebody would do that, but when I got back this afternoon to post, it had disappeared. I'm even madder now to see that his abusive behaviour resulted in him salvaging a draw out of a lost game.
If some idiot tries to force you to draw, after u gain an advantage due to good play by u, and crap play by him (no such thing as cheap tricks in chess), tell him/her to shove it. And then tell him to send a challenge to Gambitzoid, he's all into trying to force people to draw/resign when HE thinks they should.
