Hi, Nice game.

greenpawn would not play 1.c4 but it is a nice game and good for a blitz.

Bg6!!

Don't ask yourself that question too often. You will find yourself
sitting there with no bits left.

Sorry did not have chesshead on this morning. It was too early.
Actually logged on out of habit to see if my opponent had made a move.
(I don't have any games going....)😕

Right what would greenpawn do?
Well in this position he would play 35.Qxb8!!

And after 35...Qxb8 then mate the King and claim it was a Queen sac
Then post it here, and in all his clubs & clans - infact he would
join orther clubs and clans just to post it.

New Rule of Thumb Boys
Never checkmate unless you have too.
Always look for a way not to checkmate your opponent.
You won't have many grading points but you will inherit loads of new friends.

Of course you will get tricky buggars who are determined to be mated.
(They use computers to find the worse moves.)

I don't have a good one at hand so I call yet again on
Swiss Gambit or Heinzcat to show us a Self-Mate.

(An easy one boys just so they get the idea. - remember to explain
the conditions).

Okay, let's suppose Black absolutely does NOT want to mate. However, White finds a cunning move in the following position to force Black to mate him on his next move.

Brilliant. Perfect.

And this one was also very good.

It was composed by doodinthemood.

White to play and force Black to mate him.

I'll give the first move you guys can find the four different
mates depending on what Black promotes to.

1.Qb3! ....

Good init?

(That's another thing comoputers cannot do - compose things like this)

Now, if only they'd let me in the problemists so I could do some more of those puzzles, then we'd be in business!

You have to PM Heinzcat with your solution.

No harm done though.

Have you applied to join?

(they do a lot of proof games - which is fine by me as they
seem to really enjoy them - I cannot get my head around them at all).

A rook on the seventh is called _________

What is the difference between a hockey mom and a pitbull?

When Obama was criticizing McCain's failure to articulate economic policies distinct from those of Bush that facilitated the financial meltdown, Obama said, _________________________________, which McCain tried to spin as a criticism of Palin (because of the question above).

Thus, a rook on the seventh needs lipstick; pink lipstick if they are mating the king.

Perhaps he did not find the right key to open the problemists club's door.
