Hi V.

I got it mate, it's OK. I said trust your gut, but it can be wrong.

I got a twinge for Rfe8, trust the twinge, or at least look at it.
If I did not like what I saw then I may have changed my mind.
Maybe, maybe not.
The important thing is I would have been playing what I wanted to play.

I just did not like the look on the f8 Rooks face after the a8 Rook took it's square.
I like Rooks, they never let you down.
It's the players who let Rooks down, look at this.

No matter where you place a Rook on an open board it will always
command 14 squares. It will always give you 100%.

Put any other piece on h8 and their power is reduced.

I see Philidor ideas.
(Philidor deas abound with a Queen and Knight and moved f-pawn, they don't all
have to end in mate, the discovered check will do nicely.
It must be how I shelve them. We apparently all think differently.)

I see all kings of wonderful things in any position.
Most are silly, but every now and then....
It's where my combo's/tricks spriing from. Flights of fancy.
Which is about as close as I can come to explaining it from my side.

I'm seeing Queen+'s Nf7's and Ng5's with Black playing h5.

And even with a pawn on h6.
If the Bishop goes back to h7 and refrains from taking on g8.
I can see a Philidor mate if I want to.
(and all kinds of things that don't work and don't deserve to work.)

You just got to look.....can I force that...no, not a chance in helll.
But at least I see it, I store it, and move on....

A pure flight of fancy.

I see the analysis for Rae8, and I saw how it fitted in the game.
But I don't see any chess chess getting played.

(chess chess differs from normal chess. Chess chess is seeking the beautiful.)

Come on V let the mind roll, relax, the pieces can do such wonderful things.
It's not our game so we can have some fun.
Let others chase the truth, if you sit in on an analysis session with Sreeves,
McQueen and me (as I did the other night ) it's places like this we go to.....

Hi GP

For Qd6+ you said "that square (d8) is for my a8 Rook" so why not then play Rad8 ?.

And then remember that the White king could have been on e1 but decided not to. I think there has to be some truth while using our imagination.

HI V.

I was swinging the line back to the original game to get the Rooks mixed up.
There is enough 'truth' in chess, computers have cornered that market.
The annoying thing these thing will see many many more fantastic lines in
a few seconds than we will in a lifetime.
