What's special about a chess forum?

This is NOTHING compared to a forum I used to be on... which was affiliated with a relatively small poker site.
The whole environment was basically like a really large, hectic drunken family reunion where everyone cusses at each other.
It was so bad, the forum itself got permanently closed.... now THAT is special lol
(I believe some members joined together to set up a new forum, but it wasn't connected with the site at all)
