Ever just have one of those games where everything just happens to be in the right place, when every piece and every pawn is on the only square to make it all work?

Game 635147

After a rather spirited series of trades, it looks as though I'm going to have to settle for a draw by perpetual check. Then I realize, my knight, his rook, both of our kings, and the pawn structure are just exactly where they need to be at for me to pull off the win. Had I been playing over the board, I almost certainly would have missed it. (Then again, maybe not; I would have had a few more opportunities to find it.)

I'm glad this win happened to be there, because I had decided not to time him out earlier. Actually, I'm glad I didn't time him out so that this win could be found.

Look closer....he can't take the pawn because of a knight fork, so he has to spend a move to get his king out of the way, and then I just move my king up to keep his rook from escaping. Then a few more moves for my knight to round up his rook. I nearly missed this!

oooh, I see. Or something like Ke2 Kb6 Kd3 Ka5 Kc3 and then your knight just eats his g pawn and you promote unmolested.

Whoa...even better than that, he just feeds me his g-pawn, since it's the only move that doesn't lose the rook. And then he'll feed me the rook on the next move. Talk about zugzwang with a Capital Zug!
