Yes, those are the only ones. With any other combination, mate is at least theoretically possible (such as K+N+N vs. K).
while this stuff would help out alot, your still going to have to play out the theroetically drawn endgames (i.e, Rook pawn)

Yes it should. I know nothing about how to write a chess program, but it seems like this ought to be easy to implement. If the program already checks for K vs. K, how hard could it be to have it check for K vs.K+ N and K vs. K+ B as well?
