I was analysing some of my old games yesterday and came accross this game.

Game 5074525

Seems that things were starting to go very 'pear shaped' for me, when suddenly my more illustrious opponent resigns!?

Does he know something I don't?

Definitely you were completely losing. But your opponent has a strange rating history. From 1700+ to 1040 and back to 1700+. Looks like he was trying to get his rating down for some reason...

So he's saying that he resigned all his games one day in disgust lol!

OK that explains it i guess- I didn't miss a check mate or something.

He'll be back. He's just proving that he isn't using engines by losing, as he has done in the past. If he just kept playing and not resigning, he'd make it to the Grand Master level that he really is. 🙄. Pretty good for just starting 2 years ago.
