Game 694990
Ok there, that should make him feel better, i only just managed to not headbutt the wall after that 😛
Guys, who cares if you suck SOMETIMES, I suck ALL THE TIME. I practice/study chess 4-6 hours everyday, yet I can't even keep a rating above 1500 on Yahoo, and lose to ppl who merely play the game an hour a day at most, for fun, it's totally unfair and I guess god just hates me, I never get rewarded for hard work, NEVER!
Well, those "muppets" are kicking my butt, that's the DISGUSTING thing about it, I DESERVE TO WIN, NOT THEM! But nooooooooo, all my 12 chess books I read, totally useless, god rewards the lazy, as usual. . . I NEVER get better, I've been stuck in the same NOOB SPOT I DON'T DESERVE, since forever. I don't even know how I lose anymore to be honest, I always seem to have a better position, but lose anyways.

A little belief in yourself might not hurt :-) And really, dont play on yahoo :p
You are probably trying to hard, just let the chess flow and all that other uber wuber voodoo chessy guru stuff 😀
Originally posted by mateuloseArgh 😛 Its not about reading books iv only read maybe 6 chess books certainly no where near 12. Go find the mentor post and poke someone who takes your fancy on it. A lot of advice given in books is bo***x anyway. When i first started chess i can remember being told "Look at Grandmaster games" so i did and i looked and was very confused and didnt know what i was looking for or why anyone looked at them. Another good one is "Play the Italian game" where they neglect to tell you to avoid Giuoco Pianissimo or how to get a more intresting game.

Originally posted by mateuloseFrom your other posts, it sounds like you've been spending a lot of time learning/practicing in some areas (eg positional play) and not so much on others (eg tactics, which you seem to consider the weapon of lazy people). I don't know about Yahoo, but a rating of 1500+ here isn't too bad - you can't be doing everything wrong! I suggest you to identify specific weaknesses from your losses, and then work on them.
Practice/study chess 4-6 hours everyday, and I can't even keep a low 1500 rating on crummy Yahoo Chess, PATHETIC!
As greyeyes said, you could try picking up a mentor on RHP - there are plenty of friendly people out here, and some of them are quite good at chess as well!
ive been playing on icc for years and haven't gotten much past 1500. Don't forget the other players are improving too. Not everything remains static while you get better and better. Keep playing and pretty soon you'll notice new players coming on that don't have your experience and then you'll get better. its all relative.
