...that is the question I am throwing open to you lot.

Because last week's quiz was turned into a shambles by 'Deep Thought'
we do another four puzzles from the same Book. This time I compliment
some of the positions with some RHP examples where the idea was played.

Then we get to see Celsius I - GoodKnight2U RHP 2012

An incredible game that only RHP an produce hiding some nifty play and
dual perpetuals. (not often you see two perpetuals in the same game.)

But it was whilst searching for an RHP combo that vandervelde, missed
in his OTB game (see Thread 163518 Mirage 3) when I stumbled upon.

    Rhymester - jansax RHP 2011

This is why I love doing this bloggy thing. I unearth these wee golden gems.
Don't missing playing the last few moves of this one. It will make you happy.

To answer your question, I recall that it was played late in the afternoon on a very sunny day in a room with a western exposure but no window shades. Unfortunately Kramnik suffered greatly since he was facing the window. Because he had neglected to bring his sunglasses with him he resorted to the only thing which might save his weakening eyesight.

In the comments box on the blog so far I reasoning that.

    A) Kramik is getting shot a dawn.

    B) He did it himself so he would not be recognised on Red Hot Pawn.

I've solved the riddle of Kramnik's blindfold

Kramnik usually wears glasses, the artist has painted a blindfold on
Kramnik so he will not be wearing glasses in the completed picture.

So people wearing glasses in the picture are important!

That leaves us with 4 players wearing glasses. Botvinnik, Euwe, Anand and Smyslov.

    That spells out BEAS.

The source of the river Beas starts in the Himalayas.

The artist wants us to organise an expedition to the source of the Beas.

There we will find the book that will unlock the mysteries
of Chess and also, probably, the secret of Everlasting Life.

Phew, I'm glad I sorted that out, It's been bugging me for days.

I solved the secret of life the universe and everything aeons ago. It's not much use. However, the trip might be fun so go anyway if you want. But the answer is forty two. Told you it isn't much use. Annoyingly the Vogons destroyed the original Earth in the late 70's, well it annoyed me anyway, I had a big hand in the design you know. Although the replacement will have seemed to be seamless to you, the galactic bureaucrats allowed the Vogons a hand in the replacement which is why Thatcherism now rules the world.

I think I mentioned the guy playing the kazoo was actually just holding a camera. I think you meant the dude next to Kram.

It's the latest thing, a Camera Kazoo.

You take pictures and kazoo a tune at the same time.

    Hi bssrinivas,

Phew! That page took ages to load in.

Looks like an original with the unofficial World Champions
Adolf Anderssen and Paul Morphy added and no Camzoo.
