I think this is a good example of why you shouldn't castle.

maybe he thought he was playing suicide? 🙂

Good defensive plan. Defend the knight attacked by a pawn with a pawn. For some reason, the Petrov really seems to cause some players to throw a complete wobbly.

Game 1470487
White needed to castle on move 7, instead of that awful exchange that gave the center to black.

Yeah, that's the normal continuation of that line, but he chose to do an exchange for some odd reason.

This is a good example of why you should always check for checks, captures, tactics in this order before making a move.

Castling is always good, you won this game only because your opponent probably was thinking about his girlfriend instead of the move he was making.

A terrible game anyway.

Edit:also giving away the bishop pair (for nothing) on move 7 instead of castling was really stupid.
On counter I find this as an example of why you should ALWAYS castle as soon as you can.

Terrible in what way?

Terrible in all senses,it was a blunderfest from move six.
You can't call it a good game.
