Im Q, B, K + 2P down by the end. Anyone come back from further behind? Or got checkmate with a bigger material deficit?

Game 3315078

{Seriously need to stop blundering my queen though, done it 3 times in last 10 games}

looks like a typical game between sub-1000 rated players.

Why did black resign? Or am I missing something?

Because it's checkmate in one move.

Pray tell how you were down a King and still won?

N= knight
K = King

The Rook on f7 is pinned by the Bishop on b3 so after Black's only move, Rxe8, White wins with Rxe8++.

Game 3026177

I'm pretty embarrassed to show this game but... Here is a game I won when i was down alot of material, it pains me to even look at how many pieces i hung, my opponent was much lower rated then me so i played on. At the end i had bishop and knight so it would have taken me time to learn how to mate him but sadly, i never got the chance. I guess a win is a win, no matter how ugly it is.

edit: spelling

Why did they resign? You can't checkmate with just a king, bishop and knight.

the only time I resign is when you torture me in a way that forces the resignation out of me.

This is probably my best game to show why not to resign against a lower rated player after blundering my rook and knight away. Game 3139422 I know my opponent blundered by not simply forcing to exchange pieces, but still.

Yes you can. Open up chessmaster or fritz, give them the knight and bishop and watch them mate you in 20 moves, It's in Pandolfini's endgame course.

Yes, 'tis possible to mate with just a bishop and knight. I can't do it though, I've learned how (more than once too!) but I still can't do it. 😕
