hi Gyr,
i briefly checked the posistion and it looked to me your opponnet was in a mess posistion wise. He did the right thing by forcing a draw. I would have done the same. I agree that as long as there is paly in the posistion and the putcome is unclear, each person should play on!! i think Fischer struck a nerve thruout the chess world when he spoke out against GMs (especially Russians) who obviously had arranged adraw beforehand. however, i think it is correct for a player in a lost posistion to try to swindle or luck into a draw. 1/ point is better than none.

That game has as player someone named "ChessNut," not "CenterNut."
Reminds me of a prank we used to pull as kids: Get out the phone book, look for a family named Chestnut, and call them. "Hello, is this the Walnut residence?"
"No, this is the Chestnut residence."
"Sorry. Wrong nuts!"
;-)

I looked at the game. I may have had a little play left but my position was all tied up and you had some extra pawns you coulda run down on me while my pieces where busy trying to protect each other. I didn't see much hope against a good player.
I was also in the middle of cutting back my games so I resigned a little early.
Hope you didn't mind too much.

You were destroying him. I'd have gone for that draw in a heartbeat too.
I have no idea why, but robomod won't let me post this unless I erase the "previous post" section.
As for the draw, it was the right thing to do for sure... who wants to try and win a lost game?

Reminds me of a story, settle back now children as I recount it.
It was a timidly played game between Boleslavsky and Najdorf (maybe Tal) when Najdorf asked Boleslavsky.
"Are you playing for a draw?"
"No" replied Boleslavsky.
"So you are playing for a win?"
"No" was the master's response, yet again.
Najdorf was perplexed: "Don't tell me you are playing for a loss!!"
"No" replied Boleslavsky for the third time, "I am just playing the moves that the position demands."
Now go to sleep children and we'll hear no more about it. What's that Jim Bob, you want me to tuck you in?
On my way ....
