According to the chessbase site:

"Prize fund: The sum of 1.5 million Euro (approximately 2.35 million US Dollars) including taxes and FIDE license fees, is split equally between the players."

What is that all about?? The loser gets the same as the winner?! That's crazy.

but the loser will not get the half of the next championship title fund...so this is the real prize....the next half 😀

Unless they are the contender for the next world championship.

I'm pretty sure whoever wins the Topolav-Kamsky (I really wish Calsen would've stomped Kamsky, it would've been awesome to have an 18 y.o. being a Wch contender) match will be the next contender for the throne. So if either Anand or Kramnik lose they'll have to wait a couple years at least before a rematch.

Assuming this Kamsky/Topalov match actually happens...which is looking less and less likely.

This month's Chess Life says "the Gata Kamsky-Veselin Topalov match, [is] slated for Lvov, Ukraine from November 26-December 15 .....". Did they miss something?
