I don't play this opening, but I don't like the look of 4...Bb4+. Black gives up on maintaining the d4 pawn and the check will be stuffed with a gain of time.

Edit: maybe it's not so bad - 6...Bc5 and if 7.Qd5 then Qe7.

      6... Ba5

      6. 0-0 is an old line for white that leads to a Goring Gambit type game.

      Your line is very similar to a line known locally as the Art W. attack. 1.e4...e5 2. NF3...Nc6 3. d4...exd4 4. Bc4... Be6 5. c3... dxc3? 6. Qd5!

In that last line given by ChessP.
Many players on here and OTB have resigned after 6.Qd5 Nh6 and 7.Bxh6

Game 9109581 is just one example.

However things are not that clear. White has to give the piece back.

How about 8. Bg5 and exchange off the bishops.

So it looks like SG is right, and it's the bishop check that leads to trouble in the original line. It's thanks to the check that white can take the c3 pawn without losing a tempo.
