Oranges are obviously far superior to apples in every regard. Anyone who says otherwise is clearly wrong.

Hi!

I really don't know what makes you think that is so. Gameknot is kicking & alive.

Kindest regards

Forums haven't been shut down. The Social Forum was closed. Also the Webmaster took out the obvious link to Forums.. in some kind of effort to make it harder to access and cause less people to use the forums. Gameknot has a much better interface by the way.

Oh and if this was a labor of love, the max games for a freeloader would be much higher.

Gameknot is such that the max games a freeloader can play is plenty and yet still tons of people subscribe. Clearly this site hasn't evolved to the point where the webmaster(s) are confident enough in the appeal of their site that they can find other means of inducing people to play than simply not allowing them to play a reasonable amount of games. For that reason, I'd never pay to be a member here.

the reason that the max number of games for non-PS's is only 6 (is 6 not reasonable? i only really want to play 4 or 5...i blame the tournaments...) is because of the strain that they put on the server, so if you want to increase their number of games, buy a PS and help them get a new server! and your paying double for GK memebership... also-membership is, a lot of the time, not due to what the site will offer them if they pay, but a kind of gift towards the site-quite a number of GK subscribers complained after the social/flame forums were shut.

also - non-PS's can look at their copmpleted games, whereas non-GK memeber have 30 days to do that...

In my opinion the 'best buy' (and great value!) is still ChessWorld.net: $15/year for an unlimited number of games. Some there play 150+ games!

Chessworld.net is good. I would know as I am a member!

But unfortunately it is difficult for my work colleagues who are not members to find other work colleagues to invite for a game. It means all of my work colleagues have to be members if they want to play against each other....sike!

Here, this is free! You can search for a specific username and invite for a game...hehe!

It's 15$/year here too, and some people here play up to 400 games...what is all the fuzz about, RHP is just the best, and that is not one man's opinion, but a fact!😕

I'm only here since a short while, but in my humble opinion it's the community here that makes this site stand out.
The people make the difference!😏
