So I decided to give this a shot. I don't know anyone who has made it through the whole thing, but I'm on my second day of concentric squares. First off, concentric squares is deadly boring but I'm curious...
a. Why are you only looking for the "safe" double attacks when with multiple pieces on the board, you often get new squares (i.e. black Kd5, Rd4, white Bg2, Kg1, Qe5+ is deadly but you would never drop the queen on d5 in this exercise because you don't practice piece co-ordination).
b. Why do you only practice finding double attacks only with the queen (note he does mention variety and other piece). In particular I don't think the rook and bishop would be necessary as they are just subsets of the queen, but a knight forks in a totally different fashion than the queen.

At the same time, I have started the first round of seven circles using CT-Art. First off, CT-Art gives terrible rating approximations (I'm always >2100). Second, does anyone have any tips on how to slow down? My success rate is in the 85-89% range and I would really like to get it up higher. Any suggestions on how to think or make myself focus? I usually miss an early one because I treat it like CTS and slow down after that. There is usually only 1 or 2 out of 25 that I can't actually solve.

For those unfamiliar with De La Maza and his tactic heavy methods...

Uh...I guess you don't know me 🙂

Anywho, stop wasting your time with a and b. Also read my blog about about this "tactics" program if you got the time.
