I am better at speed chess than I am standard chess. I don't know why. I think quickly. But, my speed chess rating seems to be higher than my standard rating. My Yahoo rating right now is in the 1500s. A few days ago it was 1700. Right now my RHP rating is 1350. Of course, I played some very bad games lately, even not taking a piece here or there when I could. Amateur blunders. I should be back to 1400s on RHP soon enough though. 🙂
Originally posted by alexstclaireYahoo is quick and available, and now and then you can get a decent game. However, you often get people who stall, offer draws after every move, call you names, etc. I usually play the untimed (10 min per move), and as soon as I have a winning position, the person takes 9:59 per move to make me give up. It's childish. I boot them and take the loss, but my rating fluctuates 400 points a day in search of a real chess player.
Does anyone play yahoo chess? How does your rating compare?
Before i started playing here, my yahoo rating was about 15-1600. Since i've been playing correspondence it has gone down to about 14-1500. This, obviously,is due to bad clock management. I like to find the 'best' move in any position, so i loose on time in winning positions an aweful lot. To be honest, i've almost stopped playing blitz altogether now...
Originally posted by blindcheesecakeI just went to uchess, but couldn't sign up with my RHP info. Registration is obviously easy and free, but I was wondering why one couldn't use RHP info and sign in to that site? I know that it's a different site but if the ownership is the same...
I suggest uchess.com
It is much better then yahoo chess, it is another of russ's creations.
People are not such childish people there.
Try FICS. Yahoo, Pogo, and similar sites are not designed by chess players. Their flaws are the source of the frustrations that dominate discussions in these and other forums.
The ratings at these sites also appear grossly inflated. I've won every game I've played at Yahoo, and some of my opponents' ratings have been far higher than my FICS rating.
