Her opponent Babu Lalith did not have a clue what was going on.
He thought 1.g4 was home prep. If he had played 1...e5 one
wonders if Yifan really would have played 2.f3.

Protest games are good fun.

the morning for this round so they agreed to this one move draw.

There are some longer examples but I'm not having good luck with my googling...I want to say one was Kasparov v. Short which was a flashy-looking 25 move "book" line ending with a draw, but I can't find it.

That was Panno protesting. because the games usually started at 4pm but
both Fischer and Reshevsky's games were put back on a Saturday due to
religious reasons to 7pm.

Panno thought this was unfair and although the schedule was known weeks
in advance he chose that time to protest.

Fischer went off to find Panno to get him to play. Panno returned the board and resigned.

Fischer's protest game was the non-game. Game 2 of the '72 match.

I cannot think of a Kasparov - Short 'protest' game. Maybe someone can find it.

Kasparov-Short was not a protest game. It was a prearranged draw.
