1300 players are unbeatable. I just lost 6 in a row.

I played chess on yahoo 10 hours a day or more from 2002-2004. Back then it was exciting and mostly on the level. I mentioned yahoo to someone a few years back, they said it was pretty inactive. I found that to be true when I checked it out, many rooms were empty etc.

The point I was making is there seems to be a LOT of cheating.

And on this point.... I'll go bouts getting creamed by 1100-1300 players, which brings my Yahoo chess rating into the 1200 range.

And tonight I played a 1500 player (with my low rating), and demolished him with Evan's Gambit. I think we were about even, but with Evan's Gambit if black blunders the opening white ends up throwing the kitchen sink at you.

So because of my low rating he accused ME of cheating lol.

I think there's so much cheating on Yahoo that the whole rating system is screwed up. It's possible that some of the players I thought were cheating, are actually higher rating players than their score.

I understand. Back in the earlier 2000s someone came out with an automatic play program called Gambitron. It played weak moves very fast or stronger with slower time control. The thing could make 40 moves in just a couple of seconds. I think such things sucked the fun out of the site so many went elsewhere.

Well, it would be remiss of me not to at least mention this:

    YouTube

I shan't evangelise about the band in this forum, but very happy to talk (at length) about them in the arts forum if anyone's interested.
