I was curious and entered the first couple moves into Chessmaster to see if there was actually an opening like it. To my surprise there was, the English (Accelerated Fianchetto Variation) and it ends up looking sort of like this..

Not a totally lost position for white, CM even favors white slightly.. but then again, I haven't my hands on Fritz or some other more powerful software, so maybe this opening isn't as strong as CM likes to think it is. 🙂
