Once again, all integers from 0 to 100 with four fours, this time using only:
    Parentheses ( )
    Addition +
    Subtraction -
    Multiplication *
    Division /
    Square root sqrt()
    Factorial ! (but not sub)
    Power ^
    Decimal .
and the overline (an infinitely repeating digit), show it as |

    They can all be done!

    Have fun!

    44 is OK.

So the major change is no trig functions.

Yes - along with several other things that appeared. Feel free to be creative in the other thread if you prefer - it would be interesting to see how far it could get on a no-holds-barred basis!

    Shall we begin?

    (4 / 4) / (4 / 4) = 1

The last thread reached 30 before having to resort to the use of trig functions. We could just skip to there...

Fine by me, if that's what you want.

    4!+(4!+4)/4 = 31

    ( sqrt( sqrt( (sqrt(4)^4!) ) ) + sqrt(4) )/2 = (2^6+2)/2 = 33
  10. 14 Jun '07 20:35
    4!+sqrt4+4+4=34
  11. 14 Jun '07 20:39
    4!+(44/4)=35
  12. 14 Jun '07 20:41
    Really hard one: 44-4-4=36
  13. 14 Jun '07 23:39
    4! + 4 + 4 /|.4 = 24 + 4 + 4/(4/9) = 37

    another one, but too long:
    444 * sqrt(4) / 4! = 37

i contemplated the |.4, but then that is using more than 4 4's and isn't in the list of allowable operations...

its in the list of the thread starter though.

besides, when you write |.4 you have to write one 4 only. to me that seems a lesser problem than the sqrt which is 2nd root (and not 4th root or so)
