One of my favourite puzzles - that I failed to solve - a missed opportunity from Beliavsky v Ljubojevic, Barcelona 1989.

It becomes clearer if you are comfortable with the bishop + bishop mates. However even looking for this possibility the puzzle took some time. Thanks for the puzzle! I will not spoil it for the others 🙂

You're welcome. Yes, the theme you mention is the obvious one - but I think the subtler one of 'overloading' is what makes the sequence so fab. Plus, it was a missed win - so if you do spot the win, you've done better than a quality GM did.
