This one is even easier, you just have to be a bit imaginative:

REVERSE GEAR

i.e. if you read backwards, you'll get the word GEAR.

Cluckin hell, they were staring me right in the face

I did notice that one was GEAR backwards though, but that's as far as I got

Yes, that's why treasure hunts can be addictive. The answers are often so easy and yet so difficult! But after a while, you'll get the hang of it, and the hunt composer will have to think harder to conjure more difficult questions. Try this one, see what you make of it:
