This problem will only apply in the UK:-
In the last few weeks when watching live football broadcasts on sky sports 1 a number comes and goes intermittently in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. It appears for about 10 minutes about 5 or 6 times during a match and seems to be totally random.
    1.The number is always 1137645779.
2.It only ever appears on live football broadcasts.
3.If we record the broadcast when the number is showing it doesn't show on the recording.
We are using an LG 37" flat screen tv and view sky sports via a virgin media set up box.
I just wondered if any one else has had the same problem

Now it all makes sense, thx Kewpie.

How can something be broadcast yet be invisible to a recorder.

Maldon means monument on the hill, so I learned something.

Now that you know what it is, perhaps you can tell me. 🙂
Query: if you're using picture-in-picture function, and you're recording at the same time, does the smaller picture show up in the recording?

I've never heard of picture in picture function-so I assume I'm not using it.
Recordings go directly into the set top box regsrdless of what is being displayed on the t.v so I'm assuming the appearance of the number is something to do with the t.v as it doesn't appear on the recording when we replay it.
What is the significance of the number in Essex?
I couldn't find any reference to it on google.

It's the first node in the list. If this is your territory I'm guessing this is how your service provider shows your location. Or maybe Sky Sports transmitter is located there.

I was being sarcastic. Your post was entirely unenlightening. And now you bring a new question and imply what, us people know all about pip? wtf

Thanks for all your help people.
Apparently, it's some sort of security code.
it hasn't appeared today so maybe it was an error in the first place which has been rectified.
