Just thought it would be fun to post some of my chess puzzles. I'll start with this one:

    white to mate in 4

After solving, I ran the problem through an engine and there are 7 total solutions (1.Kb3 is one of them).

7 solutions. That's pretty depressing, but I had a feeling. I tried composing this puzzle originally with the king on a3, but I found two solutions, with several transpositions, so I thought ka4 worked to make out only one. Apparently not (but then I didn't check to make sure in the first place). Sorry for the sloppy puzzle, I had a feeling it might be a little messy. I'll try to get some decent ones up here.

OK. My first post was a little rough. I'm just starting to get the hang of making puzzles, so bear with me. Alright:

    white to mate in 3

As soon as someone solves this one I'll try to post some more.

Yes, I thought you'd got it wrong at first, but black has to help a lot.

Got it! That was tricky. Just out of curiosity, when would be an appropriate time to post a solution? Or should I put the solution somewhere else and then just post a link to it here?

Ooooo, that's a pretty one. Nicely done, artplayer.

(I sympathize with the when-to-post-solutions dilemma. This forum needs an inviso-text function. Who do you talk to about such things?)

The threads are a good place to expose puzzles to more than one person. The issue being that after someone solves it and posts the solution others don't get the opportunity to try it themselves. You can send me the solutions in a message if you'd like, I appreciate your consideration btw. thnx 🙂
