I believe the variation Mephisto is looking at is: 1.Rc7+ Rd7 2.Qc5+ Kd8 3.Kh6! (zz) any move now results either in the loss of the queen or a checkmate.

threatens 6. Ra8 mate

if 5. ... Qc8
